According to the email received by Amazon sellers recently, Amazon Europe has new requirements for energy efficiency labels. Amazon requires sellers to upload energy efficiency labels and product information before March 3, 2023, otherwise the products will be removed.
It was pointed out in the email that in Germany and throughout the EU, suppliers of goods subject to EU energy efficiency labeling regulations (including but not limited to washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, electronic displays, refrigerators and lighting equipment) should perform the following operations:
1. Paste printed energy efficiency labels for all affected commodities;
2. Register commodities in the EPREL database;
3. Upload energy efficiency labels and corresponding product information tables for each product on the seller platform.
EU energy efficiency label:
The EU stipulates that all electronic and electrical products sold in Europe must meet the requirements of ERP testing or ERP certification (energy saving requirements of products related to energy consumption in Europe).
The EU energy efficiency ERP is an information label attached to energy-consuming products or their packaging to indicate the product's energy efficiency level and other performance indicators. The purpose is to provide users and consumers with necessary information for purchasing decisions, so as to guide and help consumers choose energy-efficient and energy-saving products.
The new EU energy label is the key to improve the energy efficiency of daily appliances such as lighting, heating, refrigerators, freezers, televisions and more products. From March 1, 2021, the EU will gradually introduce the readjusted energy labels so that only the letters from A to G can be used for simpler classification instead of the previous A++to D grades.
Products requiring registration of energy efficiency labels:
Air conditioner, cooker (household), dishwasher (household), heater (space heating and water heating), light bulb and lamp, refrigerator and freezer (household), refrigerator, solid fuel boiler, electronic display (including TV), washing machine (household), electric iron, rice cooker, electric oven, hair dryer, hair straightener, hot water kettle, microwave oven, etc
Consequences of not registering the EU energy efficiency label:
1. Unable to put EPR classified goods on the shelf;
2. The products are off the shelf and even closed;
3. The goods were detained or even destroyed by the customs.
